Dress Code

Dress Code

Students must comply with the Dress Code:

  • Clothing must be safe and clean. Clothing must not be excessively short or expose the body, such as tank tops with straps less than 3 inches wide, spaghetti straps, off-shoulder/backless tops, bare midriffs, short shorts/skirts/dresses, tight fitting garments, or bathing suit type tops.
  • No bandanas of any kind.
  • No jacket hoods.
  • No apparel that displays profanity, racial slurs, obscenity, violence, advertisements for controlled substances (alcohol, tobacco, drugs, etc.), or any message that is demeaning.
  • No low-rider “oversized,” baggy pants that are “sagging.” “Oversized” is defined as pants that will drop below the hips when the belt is removed and are more than two (2) inches larger than the waist size where pant leg is excessively wide (as determined by administration).  “Sagging” is generally defined as pants worn so low on the hips that all or parts of the rear end are exposed or the undergarments are exposed.
  • Belts may be no more than four (4) inches longer than the waist size.
  • No pajamas are to be worn to school.
  • Hoop earrings are to be no larger than the size of a quarter.
  • No sandals, slippers, or thong footwear are allowed on campus. This type of footwear is unsafe because it exposes the toes and parts of the foot to injury and/or accident. No high heels or  platform shoes (more than one (1) inch high) will be allowed.
  • Hats may be worn outdoors only. Cap bills are to face forward.
  • If a student wears inappropriate clothing or shoes to school, the parent will be called for a change of clothing or shoes. The student will put on P.E. uniform until parent or guardian arrives.

In general, all disallowed items will be confiscated and returned to parent/guardian ONLY.
