Welcome to My Web Page

Thank you parents and students for visiting my webpage. Information contained on this site will help you stay informed regarding assignments and events that are necessary for success in Physical Education.

I have been teaching in LAUSD for 8 years (16 years overall) and am excited to be at Mark Twain Middle School. My interests include beach volleyball, basketball, running and spending time with my family.

The Physical Education department will implement a California Standards based P.E. curriculum that will focus on lifelong health and wellness concepts, in the hope that all students will take an interest in their own fitness, heath, and nutrition throughout their lives. The California Standards consist of 5 overarching concepts that are as follows:

California Physical Education Content Standards - Grades 6 - 8

Standard 1: Students will demonstrate the motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.

Standard 2: Students will demonstrate knowledge of movement concepts, principles, and strategies that apply to learning and performance of physical activities.

Standard 3: Students assess and maintain a level of physical fitness to improve health and performance.

Standard 4: Students demonstrate knowledge of physical fitness concepts, principles, and strategies to improve health and performance.

Standard 5: Students demonstrate and utilize knowledge of psychological and sociological concepts, principles, and strategies that apply to the learning and performance of physical activity.

I have an open door policy and welcome any parent to stop by and see what your son/daughter is doing in my class. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding you child's education in my class. I look forward to meeting all parents and speaking with you throughout the year!
